TRRS & USB-C Cables Improvements

At beekeeb, we put together DIY keyboard kits with all the important stuff you need. Making sure the items in each kit are really good quality is super important to us because we want you to love using them.

When I got a new iPhone recently, I noticed how much better the charging cable was. It got me thinking about how we could improve the cables in our kits too.

In a wired split keyboard, the cable connecting the split keyboard halves plays a crucial role. After reaching out to several factories, I have produced new TRRS and USB-C to USB-C cables. While they may not look fancy, these cables are designed to be functional, durable, and of high quality.

TRRS cable

The new TRRS cable is much softer now because it is made with TPU. It also has a better connector, so your split keyboard sits nicely on your desk while you type. The cable can be used in some wired keyboards, for example the Corne v4, Sofle RGB and Allium58 GLP.

USB-C to USB-C Cable

As seen in the photo, it is much more obvious about the changes in our USB-C to USB-C cable. It has been difficult to shape the old cable because the cable is so hard. The new cable is so much nicer now that is designed in an adjustable and soft material. We also changed the USB-C connector in the cable to a more durable one.

The split keyboards that uses USB-C to USB-C cable for connecting the 2 halves includes Piantor Pro, 3W6HS and the FelixKeeb.
